What the sources sayस्रोत क्या कहते हैं

Wikipedia's Chaturmasya article treats the word broadly; it also names a later monsoon-season observance. This page concerns the Śrauta seasonal sacrifices only. Because the sub-rites and their order need a Brāhmaṇa or Śrauta Sūtra source we have not opened, we describe only the idea: rites performed at intervals of roughly four months, marking seasonal junctures.
